  • It is a home away from home! We have the best camping experiences in this park. The owners are experienced, friendly and helpful. They run a tight ship which I, for one, appreciate! Beautiful lake full of great fishing, swimming and boating!Thank you WhiteCedars!

Upon arrival, we requested to be switched to a waterfront cottage. The lady at the front desk informed us that there were cottages available, and said that switching would most likely not be a problem. However, when the owner arrived, he denied our request. When we asked why he wouldn’t switch us cottages, he refused to cite a reason for his decision and said he didn’t need one since he was the owner, and that we can’t question the way he runs a business. The owner called us ignorant, and said that our request was causing him grief. We agreed to stay at the original cottage, but the owner said that he’s not even sure he wants us to stay on his property. We gladly offered to leave and requested a refund, but the owner aggressively stated that there were no refunds and marched away to his office. On the last morning, after a heavy rainfall, we went to take the boat we rented to go fishing, but the motor would not idle at low revs for more than 5 seconds. We immediately contacted the owner, who reluctantly came out to diagnose the problem. While trying to figure out why the engine kept dying, he cranked the engine with it still being in forward gear and broke the pull starter cord, rendering the engine inoperable. He said that we were at fault for the engine not idling at low revs, and that we would be billed for breaking the engine. While trying to talk to him, he scurried away to his office while shouting at us, telling us to pack our s*** and get the f*** off his property, as well as calling us a**holes across the campground at 7 in the morning. We packed our gear and asked for a refund for the last day of boat rental since we did not have a working boat. The owner refused the refund despite not fulfilling his end of the contract, and called an older man in our group an old bastard. Our stay here ended with us calling the police, who came and told us that they have had many problems with this owner before, and that we were not the first customers to have had the police involved. Other members with trailers in the park approached us during our stay and told us that the owner took over the park within the last few years, and that they and many others have had problems with him as well. The owner must not care about his reputation and seems to be proud of it. Save yourself the hassle, stress, and frustration with dealing with this place, and enjoy the beautiful Ontario outdoors elsewhere. Avoid this park like the plague.

  • I love this campground. The owner's go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Well kept and maintained. The park always has functions if you choose to partake. Horseshoes, darts, music and when I was there karaoke. It was a great time by everyone. Having the owners there and participating ensures the fun. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a seasonal or getaway campsite.

My father booked a site for the entire 2017 season and put down a large deposit. He however had a motorcycle accident a couple months ago and sustained brain injuries. When I was made aware of the booking I called Dayton and cancelled the booking. When I inquired about a refund, he flatly said no and hung up on me. I called him back and he promptly hung up again. Not very professional or compassionate! If you value enjoying both the physical environment and the personal relationship when camping- please STEER CLEAR OF WHITE CEDARS! Curtis Behnke
